Tools: Tools to effectively create a flathead screwdriver of maximum length 1.5" (such as a slim 1/4" drive ratchet with socket+flathead bit) Volt-Ohm Meter Something which will function as electric probe for determining voltage 18 gauge wire. (probe or electric tap as shown) Someone or something to slowly press the gas pedal down A New TPS (try ebay) And either set 1 or set 2 as follows: Set1: Dremmel with metal cutting wheels, a small hammer to tap the screw threads loose, Set2: hacksaw Small (1/4") chisel Small Hammer Patience & carefulness Replacement screws, preferably grade 8 steel, of matching thread to original TPS screws Procedure: Make sure your TPS isn't functioning properly. TPS should register precisely within the range of .45-.5 volts without throttle pressed down, and should exhibit steady increase in voltage as the pedal is pressed down up to somewhere around 10v. (The TPS on this vehicle previously registered .68v @idle and needed replacement) Either cut slats into the round headed screws which currently hold the TPS down, or obliterate and remove brittle plastic TPS in a manner which doesn't hurt the objects within the throttle body.
